The Primera portfolio celebrates International Women’s Day

Primera BIDs host events and activations to celebrate women.

As International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month are upon us, the Primera business improvement districts are once again celebrating the achievement of women, and highlighting the issues still in the way of achieving gender equality.

Cheapside Business Alliance and Culture Mile BID

  • Cheapside Business Alliance and the Culture Mile BID are joining forces with Music in Offices this International Women’s Day, for a free singing performance and walk celebrating the power of women’s voices past and present in the City of London, led by Laurel Neighbour. 7th March, 12.30 start from Leadenhall Market, free, more info here

Eastern City BID

  • EC will be hosting an invite-only networking event bringing together key women and men from across the City to share the results of a specially-commissioned survey, and with a keynote speech from Camilla Tominey, Associate Editor of the Daily Telegraph. 7th March           
  • EC will also be exploring women’s history in the City with a bespoke walking tour showcasing the stories from its footprint. 8th March, 12.30-2pm start from The Monument, free, sign up here

Fleet Street Quarter

  • To celebrate Women’s History Month, those heading to KERB+ Fleet Place Street Food Market will be able to enjoy (and support) an all women-owned line-up on 14th March. Keep an eye out on KERB’s website for more details. 14th March, Fleet Place, from 11.30am
  • Later in the month, Fleet Street Quarter will be facilitating an important conversation around menopause and perimenopause in the workplace, hosted by Dr Theodora Kalentzi. 18th March, 5.30pm, sign up here

London Heritage Quarter

  • London Heritage Quarter will be Celebrating Women in The Military with an eponymous invite-only lunch & learn at the Guards Museum, welcoming a group of inspirational speakers to talk about their experience of the military, share career highlights and explain what IWD means to them. 5th March
  • In addition, the London Heritage Quarter team will be hosting a Wellness Morning focused on women’s health, featuring a diverse line up of speakers and compered by Dr Apul, a wellness expert. 8th March, 9am-12pm, Royal Society of Arts, to attend email info@london-hq.co.uk

Central District Alliance

  • This year, Central District Alliance will be looking back on the work it has done since the launch of its UN_BIASED report last year, which highlighted the barriers to employment faced by women. Harley Street BID

  • The Harley Street BID will be celebrating its local women with an invite-only afternoon tea at St Marylebone Parish Church, to thank local female champions for their support and dedication. 7th March
