It's game, set and match in the EC BID!
EC BID launches the Screen on the Green
Summer of Sport in the City is being launched today by the Eastern City Business Improvement District to celebrate this year’s global sporting events, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games and Wimbledon.
EC BID has joined up with the other four City of London Business Improvement Districts to put on a unique and rich programme of sporting installations and activations.
A 10-foot screen will be erected in Seething Lane Garden from 1st July to 8th September showing sporting events for free across the summer. Every Thursday, from 11th July until September, there will be a movie night, where up to 100 people can enjoy their favourite sporting classic. EC BID is partnering with the charity The Change Foundation for people to donate via Eventbrite when booking their tickets.
In addition, a series of keep-fit classes will be scheduled on the Green for when there is no sport showing.
EC BID has also commissioned a special table tennis outside St Michael Church, Cornhill, which will be available from 29th July – 25th August from 11am to 7pm.
EC BID CEO Kate Hart said: “This exciting new destination marketing campaign promises a summer brimming with sports activities for workers, residents and visitors alike. The vision to put on such an inspired programme of events is second to none and our iconic City is the perfect backdrop to celebrate this year’s global sporting events.”
